SAMA donated a vein detection device valued at approximately USD 5,600 to the Department of Pediatrics in Leskovac. This advanced technology will make blood draws and IV placement easier and less painful for children, reducing fear, stress, and repeated needle sticks—especially for our youngest patients.
This donation was made possible through the generosity of two physicians practicing in Serbia who chose to remain anonymous. Their compassion and commitment will have a lasting impact on the comfort and care of children in their hometown. We are deeply grateful for their kindness and support.
Letter from Dr. Med. Sci. Mirjana Miljković, Pediatrician:
The donation from the Serbian Medical Association (SAMA) to the Pediatric Department of the General Hospital in Leskovac will greatly help our patients and staff during medication administration and blood sampling for laboratory analysis. We are a hospital serving the entire Jablanica District, which has a population of about 180,000. Each year, we treat around 1,500 inpatients and perform approximately 6,000 examinations. We care for children from birth up to 18 years of age.
This vein detection device will be of great significance. We would like to express our gratitude and invite you to visit us.
On behalf of everyone,
Head of the Pediatric Department, General Hospital Leskovac
Prim. Dr. Med. Sci. Mirjana Miljković, Pediatrician
