Zoran Mladenović presented a new gynecological examination chair to Dr. Đorđe Radić, one of four gynecologists at the local Health Center who initiated this donation. The Head of the Department and the charge nurse were also present at the ceremony.
Sremska Mitrovica is a municipality of approximately 70,000 residents, and its Women’s Health Department serves about 28,000 women. The clinic performs a high volume of daily examinations—between 80 and 100 per day—yet organized screening programs are still lacking. Dr. Radić noted that opportunistic screening is currently practiced: every woman who comes for an examination receives a Pap smear and appropriate screening.
Previously, two of the four examination chairs were extremely outdated and no longer met modern standards for dignified, high-quality patient care. The new equipment represents a major improvement in comfort, safety, and efficiency.
Dr. Radić and the entire staff expressed their sincere gratitude and enthusiasm for the new chair and its advanced capabilities, which will significantly enhance the quality of care for women in the community.
